Fetal Cow Thing

So this is my second experiment with spraypaint. The cheap white I was using was no match for the semi-premium black, to be precise it sputtered a lot, and therefore a lot of the black lines are made faint with white haze. Nonetheless, I feel like I learned a lot. I learned that I should notice that the can of paint I'm buying, and planning to use to outline, is 15 ounces, and is probably, because of its larger size, more pressurized than the normal sizes. This made precise lines difficult. It was a silly mistake. Won't happen again. The original idea was the have the cow standing.

My friend Nori walked over as I was sketching it out in white and commented that it was a strange shape for a cow. My response was that it was, in fact, a cow fetus. He immediately understood and pointed out to me that, in the case of a fetus, he should be floating, instead of standing on legs that could not support his fetal body. Props to Nori for suggesting that, I think it made me like the cow a lot more.

I didn't really feel like staying too long, so I didn't shade at all, but that is probably something I should have done. I also did not even consider picking up pink paint to do the udders. Mistakes in planning to be documented, so they can be avoided, for sure.

Octopus - Part 1

Here's something a little Ryan North inspired (Notice that I am drinking for two):

I really like him so far, but he was just too small. So I used the same size paper and printed the dude out 4 by 4 sheets, as opposed to 3 by 3:

Just need to pick up some posterboard or something with which to make him a stencil. As soon as I get that taken care of, expect him to go up in the streets!

Bunnies in the daytime

I'm pretty happy to report that the rabbits are still hanging out. Here are some pictures that are a bit more clear.

Kind of a quantity over quality type of thing. I'm pleased enough with it. Maybe bunnies will brighten somebody's day? I know seeing them up there sure made my day pretty awesome.

Rabbits on walls!

So I guess this is something with which to start up this thing.

I really just wanted there to be oh so many rabbits, so I made some stencils, sprayed some paper, and here is the result:

I go out and stick them up in this wonderful spot, and when I get down to the street, I realize that they are just far too small. So I go home, make a fairly large stencil, spray it up, and then head back out. Results:

There's one kind of over to the left that is also cut out in outline form (a la the one on the right).

Still kind of too small, right? You can definitely see it driving under the bridge, but I consider it a work in progress. I'd like to make some ultraposters and smack them up between all of the rabbits. We'll see how that goes.

Anyway, this is my first paste. Thoughts?
